Agripower have recently been appointed to construct 5 purpose made Baseball/Softball fields for the UK governing body, BSUK.
Agripower were selected because of their commitment to new sports and ability to design and develop the unknown.
The Farnham Park project which included a 2 dedicated Softball fields , 1 softball/ baseball, 9m backstop fencing, 8 dugouts , marker posts, warning tracks and full boundary fencing proved to be a challenge largely due to the prevailing weather conditions, but also due to the water bound sandy/gravel subsoil which prevented the use of wheeled equipment. The site was stripped of topsoil and then levelled using LGP bulldozers. Deep drainage was installed to avoid the Baseball dugouts from becoming flooded.
Milton Keynes Conniburrow was tendered via MKDC and involved the construction of a dedicated softball field complete with fencing, dugouts and full softball infield alongside a new football facility. Again the site suffered from a particularly wet 2012, but patience and a small gap in the clouds enabled completion of the construction phase in June.
Agripower are proud to have been involved with both projects and are looking forward to further dedicated fields being constructed to help promote one of the largest growth sports in the UK.
